Dreaming in Blue, Bleu, Azure, Indigo & Turquoise - Part Trois

I 've been thinking about why this image of this particular Chanel no. 5 commercial struck me so strongly and has stayed with me for so many years. I could probably only underplay it's significance. I've decided it has a major mental impact on me that has probably influenced who I have become in a strange way...it might even be too personal to explain on a public blog.

In the meantime, the pool is starting to look really attractive:

But I digress....(which is easy to do when there is a pool somewhere near waiting to be utilized)....

Let's contemplate rooms in Blue, Azure, Indigo & Turquoise:

I am made of Yellow Sun - Part Deux

C

ontinuing on yesterday's theme from the Chanel No. 5 commercial:

I am made of Blue Skies and Golden Sunlight...and I will Feel this way forever...

Sunlight:

I still say there's almost nothing more cheerful than a yellow kitchen!

I love the typography on the wall, that wall makes the whole room come alive

Love yellow with black and white but then the turquoise adds just that little bit extra!

almost a formal space but so cheery...

Once upon a time there was a girl and when she got into her bed every night, and woke up to her cheerful yellow walls she was happy forever after.
Joyful with a modern edge
How obsessed am I with tufted things right now? That is the PERFECT yellow.

You wish you would have thought of this...well, that's okay, you can still do it. It looks awesome and you'd always have that song playing in your head.

That's all for today - tomorrow will be a happy blue...the kind Bob Ross liked to paint in his "happy skies" with his "happy little trees".

Another Ode to Chanel No. 5 - part 1

I've shared on my blog before my fixation with a certain Chanel No. 5 commercial from the late 70s/early 80s. This is back when we thought Sun and Tans were Good thing - not only a good thing, but a very desirable thing - when hours spent lying in the sun were not only NOT a waste of time, but an accomplishment. You were getting a TAN you were making yourself HEALTHY and GORGEOUS all at the same time. Then skin cancer came along and ruined all our fun.

I used to lay outside smeared in baby oil. If I ran out of baby oil I would use vegetable oil. But the best was good old Hawaiian Tropic smelling like coconuts baking in the sun. All I have to do is sniff some of that stuff and I'm in an instant good mood.

So in honor of upcoming summer, I thought we would look at some decor inspiration which is an ode Share the Fantasy of Chanel No. 5 which said:

I am made of blue skies and golden sunlight.....and I will feel this way forever....share the fantasy of Chanel no. 5. (new agey music in the background)

So, Part one, we'll focus on the white clouds of the sky, Part two, Yellow Sun, Part 3, Blue Skies and the pool.

1. White rooms that all have a restful tranquil summer feeling:

Don't you feel rested? They are very zen...

Tomorrow we'll wake you up with a little yellow...
