It is so nice to have like-minded, articulate friends. Gosh, this just sums it up. I hope the 4th wave takes the notion of supporting our "sister friends" (as I Am Boymom puts it) further. I think there is still a bit of contention and judgementality (I think I just made up this word) within "the ranks". When we as women can unite and support one another in our individual endeavors- AS WOMEN- that is truly empowering!Mamie Coffeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10737623281966250786noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17774815.post-57903149112840682542011-09-23T22:33:10.508-07:002011-09-23T22:33:10.508-07:00Lezlee, you are such a smartie pants. Or I would think it if I bothered to spend anytime thinking. <br />Love you!Suzanne Barkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03731387308501522549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17774815.post-19286988874737338962011-09-23T20:42:06.181-07:002011-09-23T20:42:06.181-07:00Insightful post, Lezlee. In my opinion, that was due to a few feminist zealots in the 60's and 70's who, in their desire to advance the movement, came across as vitriolic man-haters. There are always the extremes in any movement and those seem to be the ones society remembers. I am grateful that 3rd Wave has created an atmosphere that allows women to define who they are and what they want out of life without being labeled. More importantly, I think the movement in general finally evolved to the point where we as women spend much less time judging one another about life choices and focus more on how to uplift and support our "sister friends" as they pursue their own happiness. That's REAL progress.I Am Boymomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15325620257808590423noreply@blogger.com
